A garden grows in Brooklyn

Construction is expected to begin this summer on a garden for P.S. 216 elementary school in Brooklyn and the first New York affiliate of the Edible Schoolyard program. The $1.6 million building will be solar-powered and have a movable greenhouse and a rainwater-collection system. School officials hope students will learn about environment and agriculture in time.
