Georgia NBCTs could lose state-funded stipends

Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue has proposed eliminating state stipends for National Board Certified Teachers and incentives for educators who earn advanced degrees. Perdue's proposals were part of an overall reduction in education spending. The stipends for NBCTs were cut in half last year. Teachers also face the possibility of more furlough days.
