Lenders look for ways to restart construction projects

Banks nationwide are struggling to get stalled construction projects back on track after the recession dried up cash and left developers with partially finished sites. Some lenders are extending loans or lowering collection rights on debts on projects. The move comes while all are looking toward about $566 billion in commercial real-estate debt that will come due this year and next.
