Microsoft urges Congress to regulate cloud computing

Microsoft is lobbying Congress to take up a proposed Cloud Computing Advancement Act that would regulate privacy and security online, offer legal recourse against hackers and require cloud providers to be more transparent about their practices. "We need government to modernize the laws, adapt them to the cloud, and adopt new measures to protect privacy and promote security," Microsoft general counsel Brad Smith said.
