President Barack Obama reiterated his preference for the independent Consumer Financial Protection Agency in a meeting with Senate banking committee Chairman Christopher Dodd, D-Conn. The agency has become a flash point in discussion about legislation to overhaul financial regulation. One administration official called Mr. Obama's stance on the agency "nonnegotiable."
