U.K. online-payments market expected to surge in 2010

Total volume of online payments in the U.K. could surpass 20 billion this year, but the average transaction is expected to drop to £70, an 18% decline, according to Sage Pay. "Over the past five years there has been a noticeable drop in the value of the average transaction, as UK shoppers become more comfortable with making electronic payments for a wider variety of goods," said Simon Black, managing director at Sage Pay.
