Depression rates in cancer patients may be lower than thought

An analysis of 94 studies in The Lancet Oncology found that nearly one-sixth of cancer patients were depressed and one-third had a mood disorder -- rates that may be lower than previously thought. Researchers also found whether a patient received palliative care did not affect the rates of depression and anxiety.
