Ford uses DuPont polymer technology in lightweight engines

Ford's turbocharged EcoBoost engines are infused with lightweight materials and are more powerful than Ford's conventional engines. "Turbo systems are one of several technologies the industry is quickly adopting to boost the performance of smaller, more efficient engines. The environment these power-boost technologies create is challenging the capabilities of many existing engineering thermoplastics," said Patrick Ferronato of DuPont Performance Polymers.
