A hacker in disguise said at a computer security conference that he was able to intercept wireless communications between Silver Spring Networks and its electrical utility customers such as Pacific Gas & Electric and Pepco. Using the cybernym "Atlas," the hacker said of Silver Spring's wireless network, "I see these placed everywhere that I want them to be as a hacker." He added, "I see the sales getting better. I see a Titanic running full speed towards an iceberg, with the potential for a rudder that might make the turn in time."
