Kan. wines gain in prominence

Topeka, Kan., was able to sell out its 28th annual Kansas Grape Growers and Winemakers Association conference as the region proves to be a developing winery and vineyard spot in the U.S. Presenters said Kansas was spreading its influence through wins in international competitions and word of mouth on the Internet, which could represent a boom for the state's economy, said Bob DesRuisseaux, owner of Prairie Fire Winery.
