Nutrition experts offer advice for 2015 dietary-guidelines update

The 2015 update of federal dietary guidelines should offer clear-cut, food-specific recommendations that expand on current guidelines, nutrition experts say. Registered dietitian Andy Bellatti said he is pleased an advisory committee studying the guidelines is looking at environmental factors related to food, such as marketing to children and agricultural practices, and RD Joy Dubost added that the recommendations should take into consideration what is affordable and practical for consumers.
