Should the U.S. offer paid maternity leave?

Out of 185 countries studied by the United Nations' International Labor Organization, the U.S. is one of the only two that don't require access to paid maternity leave. A handful of states have addressed the issue, and legislation has been introduced in Congress that would allow workers to take partial paid leave. The legislation faces opposition from the National Federation of Independent Business.
