States increasing spending on higher education, report finds

After dropping by nearly 8% two years ago, state funding for higher education has rebounded, rising by 5.7% in the current budget year, according to the Grapevine report released today by the Center for the Study of Education Policy at Illinois State University and the State Higher Education Executive Officers. While 40 states have increased funding for colleges and universities, most institutions are still below pre-recession funding levels, the report showed.
