When moving into a new academic role, an exit strategy from the old job as well as a smooth transition to the new position is essential, Jim Troha, president of Pennsylvania's Juniata College, writes in this commentary. Troha chronicles how important it was for him to leave his old post on good terms, as well as keep his family in the loop as he began his new job.
