Diet expert to research most effective weight loss plan

Recent news of Atkins Nutritional's limit on saturated fat intake for its namesake diet surprised adherents who saw Atkins as not restricting fats by type. Dr. Frank M. Sacks of the Harvard School of Public Health has been given a grant to study whether a low-fat or low-carb diet is more effective; he says he would steer dieters to the South Beach diet, because of its emphasis on a wide variety of healthy foods.
