Critics question TransCanada bid

TransCanada's winning bid to deliver a natural gas pipeline to Alaska has raised some concerns. Clauses in the bid suggest the company might need billions in backing from the U.S. government on top of the $500 million in seed money. To some, this indicates TransCanada doesn't yet have the infrastructure in place to develop the pipeline.
