FDA OKs respiratory-virus test

The FDA has approved the ProFlu+ test designed to accurately detect four common respiratory viruses within three hours. The test, developed by Milwaukee-based Prodesse, could help health professionals quickly determine whether a disease is caused by a respiratory virus, the director of the FDA's Center for Devices and Radiological Health said.
