Another tough year for commercial construction

The recession for commercial building projects is expected to last throughout most of 2010, as lenders face continued pressure to reduce exposure to commercial real estate, according to economist Jim Haughey. He notes that stimulus funds for construction are expected to help offset weakness in investment and general funds through 2011 and that very little of the building-stimulus funding appropriated 15 months ago has been spent.
