CCHIT revises certification criteria for EHRs

The Certification Commission for Health Information Technology wants to update its program for evaluating and certifying electronic health record systems based on an interim rule on EHR certification provided in the recently released meaningful-use standards. The agency said EHR vendors seeking certification based on CCHIT's upgraded criteria can submit applications starting Feb. 12.
