The developer of the proposed Shard office tower in London anticipates getting rents as high as $114 a square foot, the highest rate the market has seen since the runaway London property boom of the 1980s. The building, which will be the tallest in Western Europe, is scheduled to open in time for the 2012 Summer Olympics. In addition to office space, the building will have a five-star hotel and 13 luxury apartments. "We won't be pushing the market, the market will come to us," developer Irvine Sellar said.
