Goldman Sachs expects to continue as federally supervised bank

David Viniar, chief financial officer at Goldman Sachs, said there is little chance that the bank will no longer be supervised by the Federal Reserve. "We're now regulated by the Fed, and I expect we will be on a continuing basis," he said. President Barack Obama's proposals would prevent financial institutions with special access to Fed funding from conducting proprietary trading and operating or investing in private-equity funds and hedge funds.
