Oil workers aren't discouraged by foreign perils, experts say

Interest in working in the world's more unstable oil regions won't likely be affected by the hostage crisis in Algeria, some experts say. "Overseas assignments allow individuals to grow more rapidly with respect to their assignments," said Steve Newton, managing director of Russell Reynolds Associates. "You have less support, you are able to make decisions, you are much more the leader in the field."
