2013 ties 2003 as 4th-warmest year on record, NOAA says

Last year tied with 2003 as the fourth-hottest globally since 1880, according to figures released by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. NOAA scientists say the average world temperature was 58.12 degrees Fahrenheit, or 14.51 degrees Celsius. However, NASA, using a different method of calculation, says that 2013 was the seventh-warmest, averaging 58.3 degrees Fahrenheit, or 14.61 degrees Celsius.
