Device helps count calories, ID gluten in meals

Canadian researchers have developed a device called TellSpec that is designed to indicate the caloric, gluten and allergen content of foods. The tool, which is still in prototype, is a kind of spectrometer that emits lasers to assess the photon wavelength of meals and determine their chemical makeup.
