Group recommends dress code to reduce hospital infections

The Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America released a recommended dress code for physicians and nurses to help stop the spread of hospital infections. The guidelines call for short sleeves that leave forearms and hands bare, white coats laundered at least weekly and close-toed shoes, and advise hospital staff to wash home-laundered clothing in hot water and bleach.
