Report analyzes risks of extubation in renal failure patients

A study from Massachusetts General Hospital analyzed the risks of removing mechanical ventilation from patients who have or are at high risk of renal failure. The research, presented at the SCCM Critical Care Congress, was based on data from 451 extubations at the hospital's surgical ICU.
