Sundance: Panelists talk sexism in Hollywood

Director Rory Kennedy spoke out against the continuing problem of gender inequality in Hollywood during the Women In Film panel at the Sundance Film Festival. "We live in a sexist world and Hollywood is at the heart of it," she said Sunday. Director/producer Valerie Veatch, another panelist, added, "The financing structure of Hollywood films is also part of the problem." San Diego State University’s Center for the Study of Women in Television and Film this month reported that women held 16% of the leading production positions in the top 250 domestic grossing films last year, compared with 17% in 1998.
