"Google Bombing" explained

Google has contributed yet another phrase to the English language: "Google bombing," the practice by which search engines are manipulated to display a predetermined result. In other words, groups of people link their Web sites to a certain anchor text, which ultimately boots their search terms to the top of the search pile; hence, two months ago, the search term "miserable failure" linked to the official bio of George W. Bush.
