RIAA files second wave of lawsuits against file-swappers

The recording industry filed 532 lawsuits against individual computer users who allegedly traded copyrighted music files on peer-to-peer sites. The John Doe defendants are identified by their numerical Internet addresses and grouped by their ISPs. A judge will review each individual case before deciding whether to subpoena an ISP for a user's identity.
