St. Jude Medical's software updates get FDA clearance

St. Jude Medical has received FDA approval for software updates to its Patient Care Network, an Internet-based repository that lets doctors remotely monitor patients with implantable cardiac devices. The modifications offer patients who send data through phone lines more convenience and allow them to access the system while traveling, the company said.
