Union wants National Board Certified Teacher incentives

Teachers in Fairfield, Iowa, have requested additional professional development time to help educators seeking National Board Certification as part of their 2009-10 contract proposal. The teachers union's chief negotiator says the added professional days would be an incentive for teachers to earn the national certification since the state dropped its financial support for the program.
