ECB expects moderate economic growth for eurozone this year

Jean-Claude Trichet, president of the European Central Bank, called on eurozone governments to shrink their budget deficit and said the central bank predicted that the region's economy will experience moderate growth this year. "We expect the euro-area economy to grow at a moderate pace in 2010," Trichet said. "I should add, though, that the recovery process is likely to be uneven, and the outlook remains subject to high uncertainty."
