Iowa vets use acupuncture to treat rescue dog

A nine-year-old rescue dog suffering from sore muscles regained its strength and agility after receiving acupuncture treatments, according to doctors at Iowa State University's veterinary medicine clinic where the dog was treated. Acupuncture could help treat arthritis or hip ailments in older pets but will not work for diseases such as diabetes and cancer, one of the doctors said.
