Maryland lawmakers question reforms associated with Race to the Top

Several Maryland lawmakers are questioning schools Superintendent Nancy Grasmick's expected proposal to overhaul teacher tenure and compensation to qualify for the second round of Race to the Top funds. State Sen. Paul G. Pinsky, a teachers union organizer, said he was not convinced that Maryland should change its policies because it will be rewarded with federal money.
