Pennsylvania overtakes New Jersey in slot revenue

Pennsylvania beat New Jersey in slot revenue for the first time last month, ending Atlantic City's reign as the second-busiest gambling destination in the U.S. after Las Vegas. Pennsylvania's nine casinos took in $189 million in slot revenue for December, while Atlantic City's 11 casinos took in $179 million. "Unless they get aggressive, Atlantic City will continue to lose ground to Pennsylvania and others," said Eric Shippers, spokesman for Hollywood Casino, near Harrisburg, Pa.
