Smithsonian acquires food stamps

The Smithsonian's National Museum of American History has acquired food coupons, artists' designs, proof sheets and other materials related to the U.S. Department of Agriculture food-stamp program. Although billions of food stamps have been issued, few have survived since the actual coupons were replaced with a debit-card-like system.
