The ANA's American Nurses Credentialing Center has honored nurses at the St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, Okla., with the group's magnet status. The ANCC says the designation, which applies to the top 5% of hospitals in the U.S., signals a high level of care that correlates to fewer complications and better outcomes for patients. A nurse at St. John called the designation a huge motivator, saying, "We feel empowered to make our care we provide the best it can be. But the most important group to feel the impact are the patients."
