A recent study found no link between schools that serve soda and unhealthy snacks in vending machines and higher childhood obesity rates. However, the writer of this blog attributes the findings to students' after-school behavior and the likelihood that students are purchasing junk food outside of schools. Officials in Los Angeles and elsewhere have experienced similar responses when implementing school nutrition programs.
