Big business urges SEC to leave money market funds alone

Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Mary Schapiro said last November that an overhaul of money market funds is one of the agency's priorities. Now, major corporations say new regulations governing the sector will hinder their ability to raise funds. Business organizations and corporations sent a letter to Schapiro urging her to leave money funds alone.
