Fed officials to outline interest-rate expectations

Officials at the Federal Reserve are expected this week to explain their expectations for short-term interest rates over the next few years. Although the move is intended to bolster the central bank's transparency, it might prompt a market jolt, Stephen Bernard writes. "There is in fact going to be so much information ... that the risk of confusion and volatility hangs over the unveiling," said Sassan Ghahramani, CEO of SGH Macro Advisors.
