House Republicans request EPA, DOE views on fracking

House Republicans sent letters to the Department of Energy and the Environmental Protection Agency to determine their views on hydraulic fracturing and its safety. "We write to better understand EPA's views on hydraulic fracturing and whether you have prejudged that hydraulic fracturing poses an environmental threat, even before the agency has completed a congressionally mandated review of the practice," wrote Reps. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., and James Lankford, R-Okla. Issa also requested interviews with senior Energy Department officials regarding fracking.
