AAFP supports Obama's orders on gun safety, violence

An AAFP letter to President Barack Obama said the Academy supports his executive order making it clear the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act does not ban physicians from talking with patients about gun safety. AAFP President Jeff Cain, M.D., said the Academy also supports executive orders signed by the president to allow the CDC to study gun violence and to begin a national dialogue on mental health.
