Conservatives appear to back debt-ceiling bill

A measure offered by House GOP lawmakers to put off the debt-limit debate until May appears to have the support of both parties, including some of the most conservative House members. Though they expressed reservations, some staunch conservatives said the bill, which would allow the U.S. to borrow freely until May, was likely the best move now. "This is the most viable option that we've got," said Rep. Lynn Westmoreland, R-Ga.
