Dartmouth to stop accepting AP test scores for college credit

Dartmouth College no longer will award credit for high scores on Advanced Placement exams amid growing concerns that the high-school courses are not up to par with the college's standards. The decision follows an experiment by the school's psychology department, which administered the Psych 1 final exam to incoming students who passed the AP psychology exam with a score of 5 -- the highest possible -- rather than giving them the credits. Of more than 100 students, just 10% passed the exam, the school reported.
