New models of snow throwers can be easier to maintain and operate than their older counterparts, said Jason Giaco, owner of Giaco's Mower Shop in Fairview Park in Ohio. "Four-cycle engines burn a lot cleaner -- you don't have to mix oil," Giaco said. He cautioned buyers to look for brand-name engines. "You get what you pay for," Giaco said. "The off-brand engines seem to come in for service a lot more."
