As the online social space grows, physicians can be targets for identity theft, misrepresentation and fraud, experts say. Physicians have had blog posts copied, and competitors posing as dissatisfied patients have posted negative reviews. Physicians can protect themselves by monitoring and managing their online profiles, using privacy tools and not responding to posts that seem bogus, experts say.
