Facebook extends its reach with test of mobile-app ad network

Facebook has started a trial of a mobile advertising network that lets marketers place units inside of third-party applications. A small, closed group of advertisers will get initial access to the platform. "In this test, we'll be extending Facebook's rich targeting to improve the relevancy of the ads people see, provide even greater reach for Facebook advertisers, and help developers better monetize their apps," Sriram Krishnan, a Facebook engineer, wrote on the company blog.
