Inconsistencies in infection prevention for seniors

Is enough being done to protect seniors residing in assisted-living facilities from contracting an infectious disease? Kossover and colleagues looked at the regulations in place in all 50 of the United States and found a wide variety of infection controls as well as inconsistencies in reporting requirements, in training requirements and in sick leave policies for staff. Opportunities for improvement are vast and warranted.
