Programs offer housing, education to those caught in cycle of prostitution

Franciscan Peacemakers, a Milwaukee ministry that helps street prostitutes, is opening a housing program. The program will offer two years of housing and job-skills education to women in the sex trade. It is modeled after Thistle Farms, a Tennessee-based nonprofit that provides housing and education to sex workers and operates an online business that sells specialty soaps.
