Report: Failure of one-fifth of BYOD programs is likely in 2 years

A report from Gartner forecasts that 20% of enterprises' bring-your-own-device programs will be considered a failure within the next two years. Overly strict BYOD policies could hinder employee participation and lead to decreased productivity, says Van Baker of Gartner. "There is also a potential for increased risk as employees try to use devices that are not secure for work-related activities," he said.
